Brianna Moreno was an average 22-year-old women who loved shopping, hanging out with her friends and making more career plans….until the night she was brutally and unexpectedly murdered.

Now she finds herself trapped in the ghost world while residing on earth. The problem is, her killer can see all of his ghostly victims and enjoys taunting them as much as he does killing them.Brianna soon finds out that her killer has horrible new plans concerning her family.

Brianna meets up with a few of her killer’s past victims to hatch a plan so terrifying, the entire town will never be the same again.

Brianna is a good ghost gone bad; the good girl side is gone forever!

Brianna is brutally murdered and so begins her death as a ghost.  In life she studied to be a nurse to help people. In her after life ghostly world she still wants to help people by doing away with all of the depravity and she works to taking revenge on the people who would snuff out a life- as did the low life that killed her. She eventually teams up with like minded ghosts and develops a plan to seek justice against the man who murdered her and who is also intent on delivering the same fate to Brianna’s sister.

This story opens with Brianna’s death and it interestingly takes us through the complexities and frustrations of being a first time ghost.  It teaches us how important and beautiful life can be and it accentuates the spirit and determination that may very well remain with us after we die.

Janiera Eldridge is a great example of a first time author who takes her writing and her ambitions seriously.  She crafted a very well written and engaging short story that will be the start of a satisfying writing career.  She has talent that will only get better in time.  Can’t wait to see what’s next for her.

I give Good Ghost Gone Bad 4 stars.

On the night of her brother’s murder, Deena Hammond stumbles upon Takumi Tanaka, lost and on the wrong end of a .32. After rescuing him from the certain fate driving through the hood in a Porsche will bring, a sweet kind of friendship begins. A balm for her grief. Maybe, Deena likes to think, it happened the day her white mother killed her black father. Or maybe, it was always a part of them, like DNA gone bad. Whatever the case, Deena knows that her family would never approve, hell, never acknowledge her fast-growing love for Takumi. And had he never made love to her that way, in that unraveling, soul-searching sort of way, she could ve done the same. But love s a devil that way. So, their game begins. One where they hide what they are from everyone. Anyone. And Tak understands this for now. After all, Deena’s career hinges on the favor of her mentor and boss, his hard-ass of a father. And the Hammond family is already stretched thin with grief. Yet, each step Deena takes toward family and career brings her closer to an acceptance she s never had. And away from him.

The inter-woven complexities of life which are inherent in people who are forced to endure a clash of cultures- and the ugliness of being among both the rich and the poor- can sometimes result in a bleeding away of prejudice and the re-birth of love.

Deena, a young woman who was born and raised in a beloved but impoverished and violent prone African American family, sets out on a dream to become an architect.  Her dream never falters but the challenges she faces, when she falls in love with her boss’s son, a Japanese American, would send sparks through both families.  The secret is kept- but for how long will the burning secret and their fast and enduring love last?

This romantic tale is so richly told, with the characters and places so eloquently described, I had to keep reminding myself that this was written by a first time author. Shewanda Pugh is destined to be an author that you will want to follow. Crimson Footprints is very absorbing with a storyline that will touch many emotions.

I give Crimson Footprints 5 stars.
